Tips and Tricks for Clash of Clans

Clash of Clans tips, tricks, and cheats
1. Be patient, save your gems The biggest caveat with any casual free-to-play game is the premium currency system. Just about everything is on some kind of timer, and as you progress, those timers get longer. Don’t cave and spend your precious gems on speeding up production - save them for something important that you get to keep. Make a point to complete missions and clear natural obstacles to build your gem count. Maybe it’s a building that’s only available for a limited time. Maybe it’s your next builder’s hut. The point is, you need to save the gems you earn from missions and terrain clearing for stuff that’s more than just a convenience. You shouldn’t even spend the gems they suggest you do during the beginning tutorial session. When you do have enough gems, think long and hard about what’s important to you in the game, since if you want to get through this without paying dime, it’ll take awhile before you make another major purchase. On the flip side, you’ll have a hard time getting through the competitive end-game content without spending some cash. That said, if timers have got you down, play a few other games and cycle through them. Candy Crush Saga and Tapped Out are both solid options. A top-ranked Clash player actually went out and made his own similar game, Samurai Siege, and Gameloft has a Rome-themed knock-off called Total Conquest.

 2. Offense is the best defense (and vice versa!) Your upgrade and build order will vary significantly based on if you want to sit back and collect resources, or take the fight to other players. Odds are you'll regularly be bouncing between these two. If defense is your primary interest, your first upgrade should be your town hall, then walls, then defensive structures - first mortar, then archer tower, then cannons. Mortar and air defense are your most important towers, so make sure they’re close to the middle and have lots of protection. After that, start working on your various resource production buildings, and make sure they’re fully upgraded. Some players intentionally leave a few elixir gatherers and mines outside the walls so other players can farm them without destroying everything they have, though it’s often practical to leave lower-priority buildings like those outside your walls so you can make sure the important stuff is better-protected with overlapping fields of fire rather than covering a wider area. Also, remember that players with higher level town halls earn less from raiding lower-level players - don’t be in a rush to upgrade your town hall if you’re playing defensively. Just because you're playing defensively means you should neglect your barracks - in fact, you can queue up troops to train there, and then get a refund on those in the queue later on, turning your barracks into a kind of temporary, unraidable elixir storage. If you’re getting aggressive, the order is similar. First build up your town hall, then get your elixir production up and running so you can start stockpiling resources right away. Then get your barracks and camps upgraded so you can get started on building an army. Neither of those structures provide resources to raiders, so feel free to plant them outside your walls. After that, flesh out your defenses with walls and cannons. The only things left would be the laboratory for upgrading troops, spell factory for added offensive power, and gold mines for upgrading structures. Since matchmaking is based on trophy count, some players intentionally keep theirs low so they can clean up against lower-level players, so be careful about which fights you pick early on. That said, if you want to farm players that are lower level than you, intentionally lose trophies by raiding with a single unit.

3. Shields up! Getting attacked can suck, but luckily if 40% of your town is destroyed, or your Town Hall comes crumbling down, you’ll have a 12-hour shield. If 90% of your base is wiped out, you’ll get an extra four hours. How do you best make use of this time? Well, don’t go out and start attacking right away, that’s for sure. That will cancel out your shield immediately. The safety time is valuable, so use it to your advantage - take some time to figure out how you can improve your economy, build up your army, upgrade towers (since they don’t fire when upgrading) or simply stockpile and spend resources before the pain train comes rolling around again. Shields are useful enough that you may even want to voluntarily move your town hall out into the open; you'll lose trophies and some resources, but often the amount of safety time you get out of it is worth it.

 4. Learn the lay of the land The core strategic mechanic of Clash of Clans combat is to have as many walls between your resources and the outside as possible. To do this, you’ll want to make sure there are no gaps in your perimeter, and definitely make sure that there are no spawnable tiles within your base. You’ll want to make sure that structures are tight together, so cannons and other defensive structures can cover as many of them as possible. Putting your buildings into small compartments formed by upgraded walls is vital to slowing an enemy's advance. You’ll also want to have your most powerful defenses positioned more closely to the center of your base; provide as much of a buffer zone with other buildings and walls as possible, so attacking troops have to take longer chewing on other stuff to get to the guns.

 5. Pick your targets When finding opponents, there are a few things you want to take into account before you start dropping troops. First, look at their Town Hall level - if it’s far lower than yours, you’ll be getting a smaller cut of the spoils. You’ll get to see exactly how many resources are available for plundering. At the very least, you want to be able to earn back the resources you spend on troops. If resources are all you're after, it's often more profitable to send in a handful of goblins than a full-blown assault. Before you deploy your first troop, be aware of which resources you’re going for. If you’re going for trophies to climb the ranks, you’ll need to be investing a lot of troops to get two or three stars on your raid. You’ll also want to tap elixir reserves if you want to replenish (or earn back) resources for troops. Once you've done that, it's simply a matter of targeting the most powerful defenses for those resources. Use giants to draw fire from towers initially, then wall breakers to breach, then more giants to mop up defenses. Barbarians, wizards, and archers can chew on structures once areas have been cleared of cannon and mortar fire, while goblins can bee-line for resources. Be mindful of how many troops you drop in, though. You want to be able to pull off a win while burning through as few as possible. Remember that you have no direct control over your troops - know what the unit’s favorite targets are and deploy accordingly. Barbarians will run head-first at the nearest building, which isn’t great news if there’s a well-defended mortar just a little further in. Send the wall breakers and giants in first to take care of that first. Smart players will create bases that funnel troops right into areas with a ton of traps, which can blunt your offensive very quickly.

 6. Get raiding buddies Once you’ve maxed-out your village level, gone through the single-player levels, and rebuilt your castle, you’re probably pretty hardcore about the game and ready to start getting into organized clan play. Not only are these great ways to socialize in the game, but coordinated attacks can help you bring in some pretty good hauls, too. Keep in mind that although you can use clans to call in back-up, you’ll be expected to contribute troops too - it’s a team effort, after all. Communicate regularly about what you’re up to, get advice from senior members when you’re trying to figure out what to do next, and have fun! Your clan may have aspirations for competitive league play, which can get pretty intense

Minecraft tips and tricks

1. What's the difference between creative and survival modes? Minecraft Pocket Edition has two main game play modes and depending on your gaming style, you may heavily prefer one over the other. Creative mode gives you endless supplies of all inventory, there are no monsters and mobs to combat, and you can craft and create until your heart's content. If you like game play similar to that of the Sims, you'll most likely prefer Creative mode. Survival mode features both night and day and you start off with nothing. You'll need to harvest resources in order to build even simple things such as tools and work tables. You also have to beware of angry mobs and monsters that come out at night. If you prefer a challenge, Survival mode is what you want.

 2. What are seeds and how do I use them? Aside from naming your first world when starting the game, you also see a section labeled "Seed". A lot of people ask what this is. These are simply seed packs you can load if you have specific codes. Depending on what seed pack you load you may end up in a world full of lava or one full of ice. They make for a nice change if you want a pre-made layout that you don't have to work so hard for. After some searching online, I found quite a few seed pack codes. I won't tell you guys what they do so it intrigues you to try them all out. Be sure you use capital letters where they are present. SkyBlock Watergate nyan sugarcane Minecraftia batman hell chalkcircles gargamel And as always, if you guys have found any exceptionally cool seeds, leave 'em in the comments!

 3. Survival mode: Start punching trees! The first thing you want to do in Survival mode is harvesting wood. Do this by walking up to a tree and punching it. After so many punches you will see a little wood block fall when the wood is destroyed. Walk over it to pick it up. Make sure you look up to punch the entire tree since your character can reach rather high. To start, make a habit of harvesting trees whenever you have them.

 4. Survival mode: Create a Crafting Table and a few tools Once you've harvested a few trees, hop into the Craft menu and create a Crafting Table. There are lots of tools you can't create without it. You don't need to make more than one as they are reusable. Unless you plan on leaving a few in multiple locations for convenience, which is perfectly acceptable as well. To create a Crafting Table, just create some wooden planks first and then the option should appear. After you have a work table, create a few tools such as a wooden axe. You can break through stone a heck of a lot quicker with a pickaxe than you can with your fist. After you've got some stone, go back to your Crafting Table and create some stone tools. You'll need these in order to harvest important items such as coal.

 5. Survival mode: Find some coal Coal is an item you're going to want to harvest as soon as possible. In my experience, you want a stone pickaxe in order to break through stone and get to coal. In most instances, you can see flecked rock which sometimes indicates coal is present. Personally I've never found this to be a reliable method of finding coal. I do however always find coal if I dig downwards at least five blocks into stone with a stone pickaxe. I typically start digging in veins of earth where stone meets dirt and grass. This almost always yields coal the fastest. Once you're further into the game and have mines, you probably won't have such an urgency to find coal. In the beginning, this is the most efficient way.

 6. Survival mode: Seek shelter by night, and have your torches ready! Mobs and monsters will come out at night and that's something you need to be prepared for. It's pretty much impossible to have enough time to build a house for protection on your first day. Instead, dig a cutout into the stone that you can hide in. I typically dig about 8 or 10 deep and then round a corner out for me to hide in. Light also keeps away mobs and monsters so be sure you have torches on hand. You can easily stick a few on the entrance to your cave. This should keep mobs away for the most part.

 7. Don't dig a hole you can't get out of, literally Sometimes in Minecraft you can't resist the urge to dig. Just make sure when you do, you aren't digging a hole you can't get out of. I've been guilty of this and it's not easy, especially if you don't have any torches on hand and have no sticks to make any. It's another reason I suggest always having at least a few sticks on you, if not full torches. It's a pain to have to fashion makeshift steps in the dark, and the torches will make it easier if you do happen to get into a tight spot.

 8. Make yourself a respectable home Once you're feeling comfortable with yourself and you've started harvesting quite a few supplies, you can start moving out of your cave by building an actual home. I make sure I harvest quite a bit of wood and turn them into planks with the Crafting Table. You can also use stone and other ores for building materials. The best way to learn about them and how to create them is to play in Creative mode for a while so you can explore a full inventory first.

 9. Mitigate mobs by using Peaceful mode If you don't want to bother with mobs and monsters at night, but still want to play survival mode for the challenge in itself, you can do away with enemies rather easily. Simply hop into settings and move the difficulty slider all the way to the left. This turns on Peaceful mode and gets rid of mobs and monsters.
Minecraft Pocket Edition: Top 10 tips, hints, and cheats!
 10. Don't leave reusable items behind! Some items are reusable so make sure you collect them before you move on. In the beginning make sure you reuse your crafting table so you don't have to keep creating more. To break the Crafting Table down just punch it until it breaks and then walk over it to collect it again.

Flappy Bird Tips&Tricks

1. Use a big screen Though Flappy Bird is entirely playable on an Android phone, it's much easier if you play on a tablet. Not only are your hands less cramped, but you'll have an easier time discerning details, and less of a chance your own finger will obscure your view and get in your way. Not to mention, you can soak in all of the glorious 16-bit-style art on a tablet.

 2. Find a spot for your finger If you are playing Flappy Bird on an Android phone, pick a smart place to tap and stick with it. The corners where the ground scrolls by is a good spot and won't get in the way of oncoming pipes. This is particularly important if you're tapping with your right hand, since that's the edge where the pipes fly in from. You may find you have even more control with a stylus.

 3. Mute outside notifications Don't let an errant phone call ruin a good run. Any notification can send your stupid little bird face-first into the ground. Go ahead and mute notification sounds before you start to play. If you have a Samsung device, you can turn on Blocking mode. You might also want to take a moment to close all other apps and reboot before you play in order to maximize game and system stability

 4. Find your rhythm Make sure to get the timing for your taps down pat. The whole point of the game is to get the bird through the pipes without touching them, which means you have to learn to keep it as level as possible. Since the bird is always coming up or going down, you need to time your taps so that those peaks and dips are as consistent as possible and short enough to fit through the gaps. Recover your rhythm quickly after you rise or fall to the right height for the pipe by double-tapping or pausing to drop, then getting stable again really fast. This will take plenty of practice, so keep at it.

 5. Keep your cool Flappy Bird is an easy game to get angry at. You'll be failing often, and as silly as it may be, you're going to get stressed out about it, and that can affect your performance. Luckily, the same stress-reducing techniques that are commonplace outside of these games works just as well when trying to stay focused. Slow, steady, breathing actually works wonders. It sounds silly, but it creates calm and focus. When you start getting close to your high score — or your friend's high score — you'll be less likely to freak out and fly right into a pipe.

Tips & Tricks to make your laptop faster

These 10 tips are simple things you can do to make your laptop run faster.
1.  Start with a disk cleanup. There are several ways to access this, but one is to click on the Start Program>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup. This will allow you to delete temporary Internet Files, Offline Files, the recycling bin, and other types of unnecessary files.
2. Through the Control Panel, go to Internet Tools and delete cookies and history. This can take several minutes if it hasn’t been done in awhile.
3. Disk Defragment. You can access this the same way as a disk cleanup, but select disk defragmenter instead. Many programs allow you to schedule a time to do this application, as it can take several minutes or several hours depending on how much work is to be done.
4. Malware or Spyware are big offenders of slowing down laptops. Installing and running an anti-malware or anti-virus program and running it regularly will often times make a tremendous difference.
5. Check your power management by accessing the Control Panel. Select power management and then Maximum or Best Performance. If you use your battery pack rather than being plugged in it will drain quickly, but will give you optimal speed.
6. From the Control Panel, go to Add or Remove programs. Remove programs that you know you are not using. This can be a daunting task, since some programs affect others, and therefore you may want to know what’s important before you remove it.
7. Check the memory usage of your computer. You may need to add more random access memory (RAM) to store memory, rather than using disk space that is slower in all cases.
8. Consider using registry software cleaner or repair program. There are many good ones out there such as ccleaner.com or registryfix.com. These will identify and repair problems within the registry.
9. New computers that use Windows Vista can be slowed down by excess animation. It is possible to turn it off by going to the Control Panel>System and Maintenance>Performance Information and Tools>Advanced Tools. Then select Adjust the Appearance and Performance of Windows. The Performance Options box will prompt, and if you select Custom, then uncheck Animate Windows when Maximazing and Minimizing. You can consider other options as well, but this definitely pep it up.
10. Use an external hard drive to store all music, photos and games. It can be unplugged and used with multiple computers, and will save valuable space.
